The Whisky Exchange Show – Best Single Malt Whisky

The Whisky Exchange (TWE) has run another successful whisky show for all enthusiasts of single malt whiskies.

This turn out to be their best and biggest show to date. On show were over 500 different spirits, the majority of them being whisky. It was also the biggest in terms of attendance where over 2000 people passed through the doors during the 3 days of the Whisky Show.

The Whisky Exchange Distills It’s Own

There was certainly much to see there. Whisky distillery Balvenie has an eye-catching geo-dome which allowed visitors to enjoy samples of the best of Balvenie. They also distilled small amounts of whisky on site – this was a first for the show hosted by the Whisky Exchange. This will be something to look out for in a few years time – the first English ‘Scotch’ distilled outside of Scotland!

One of the most interesting parts of the show was delivered by Glenfiddich. They brought a yurt so that they could promote the Walking With The Wounded South Pole Challenge. Along with this they also brought along some of their finest single malts. Glenfiddich has always been at the forefront of whisky production and innovation and this year was no different.

Whisky Show Hosted by The Whisky Exchange

The Whisky Show also brought together some interesting aspects of whisky cocktails. Some of the highlights of these were a cocktail of Wild Turkey 101 with Cutty Sark and also a bourbon milkshake – which was a bit hit with everyone. They were other degustations showing how to mix different whiskies and how to write whisky tasting notes.

So the overall reaction of people there was one of an exciting event. The throngs of visitors weren’t left disappointed with the arrange of whiskies presented by the Whisky Exchange and it gave many an opportunity to try various single malt whiskies, with they probably wouldn’t have been able to sample before – or the maybe hadn’t even heard of them before!

So we now look forward to next year to see how the Whisky Exchange can top this year’s show.
