So what is the best single malt whisky of 2013? This is the Macallan Amber. It’s been given the title by the Whisky Shop.
In order to gain the top spot as the best whisky, it has to fight off competition from more that 200 other whiskies. The result was based on customer feedback, sale and how the store managers have recommended it.
The Macallan Amber is part of their 1824 Series which highlights the best things about Macallan – maturation in oak sherry casks and natural colour.
Macallan Whisky at The Whisky Exchange
The Whisky Exchange also highly recommends this as a fantastic single malt and is selling there for cheaper than the Whisky Shop. This is described as having a fuller flavour that Macallan Gold but note as strong as the Seinna. It’s perfectly balanced and really shows how expert Macallan is at using good oak casks.
In a short space of time The Macallan Amber has established itself amongst whisky connoisseurs as one of the leading single malts and rightly deserves it’s place at the best single malt whisky of 2013.
